There will be three parts to this workshop:

General Audition Prep - Thursday, January 3rd (12:00-3:00): All the major theatre companies in Arizona do a General Audition each season which requests their auditioners to bring a monologue and song selection into the room. Here, we will workshop those types of materials. Each participate will bring to the workshop a short monologue and musical cut of their choosing (an accompanist will be provided.) Learn what casting directors are looking for at these auditions while getting personal feedback on your material.

Callback and Cold Reading Prep - Friday, January 4th (12:00-2:30): On this second day of the workshop, we will be working on callback and cold reading material. It is with this material that actors book work. Experience what it feels like to come in with material that was provided the day before, and also what it means to be handed something “cold”, learn tricks along the way which will allow you to stand out and make an impression.

Industry Verbiage and Prep - Friday, January 4th (2:30-4:00): PARENTS AND GUARDIANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. This is more of a forum opportunity to ask your questions and hear the answers all of those industry questions. What is the difference between a casting director and an agent? When should I get an agent? What is the actor’s union, and when should I join? How do I format a resume? What are companies looking for? How do I cut music? Parent’s are encouraged to attend to prepare themselves and their youngster for work within the industry. Please bring your questions!

Things to bring for the workshop:
